VRM:

VRM:

John how did practice go out there today (Sunday) here at Redbud?

John Dowd:

It went good today at least I didn't break any rims this morning.

VRM:

What happened during Saturday afternoons practice session?  Did you break a rim?

John Dowd:

I over jumped LaRocco's leap yesterday during practice. I way over jumped it and squashed my front wheel when I landed!

VRM:

John isn't it 105 feet to clear LaRocco's leap?

John Dowd:

It would have been good if it was about 125 feet because that’s about how far I flew!

VRM:

And people say Vet riders are afraid to grab big air!

VRM:

John how has the 250 Outdoor National Season gone so far for you?

John Dowd:

Good! We are starting to get things sorted out on the KTM 520SX in the first couple of rounds, we originally didn't have the suspension dialed in the way we really wanted it to be. Now, we have things working great. Lately, I am starting to get more comfortable on the bike and things are starting to come together.

VRM:

Was it a big change going from the 2 Stroke bike you were used to too the new 4 Stroke bike?

John Dowd:

It's not so much going from the engine of a 2 Stroke to the 4 Stroke, but getting used to the KTM. The KTM handles a little different than any of the Japanese bikes. I am getting used to how the KTM handles now.

VRM:

John how’s your new house coming along?

John Dowd:

We haven't actually started it yet, but we are hoping in the next couple of weeks to start the foundation hole.

VRM:

On Sunday at Red Bud John went out and pulled the holeshot in both motos.  John finished sixth in moto one and moto two for fifth overall.  Next up is Unadilla.
