Dowdy Battles Henry In CT AX and More

Recapped By: Carl Hein

This past weekend at the Bridgeport, CT regional round of the Arenacross series local hero’s Doug Henry and John Dowd made surprise racing appearances much to the delight of their New England fans.

The tight track and extreme competitiveness of Henry and Dowd made for some incredible racing.

The two former teammates were never more than a bike length apart, and spent the weekend aggressively swapping positions back and forth on the track.

Henry aboard his DGY Yamaha was the winner of the 125 and 250 classes on Saturday, and Dowd on his Cernics mounted KTM won the 125 class on Friday.

The race of the weekend was the 125 main on Friday, where Dowd and Henry had a race long side-by-side battle, ending with Dowdy literally passing Henry at the checkered flag for the win.

Dowdy was using this event as a warm up for his upcoming entry into the 125cc East Coast Supercross series.  Dowd is back to South Carolina in the upcoming week where he will be practicing again with Larry Ward.

The "semi" retired Henry genuinely enjoyed the racing, and the opportunity to be back in front of his fans again.
